IIT Madras – Summer Fellowship Programme – 2018

IIT Madras is offering a 2-month summer fellowship programme.

The IITM – Summer Fellowship Programme of two months with stipend is designed to enhance awareness and interest in high quality academic research among young Engineering, Management, Sciences and Humanities students through a goal oriented summer mini-project undertaken at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras.

Eligibility: Candidates pursuing Third Year of B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Sc. (Engg) / Integrated M.E. / M.Tech. programme, First Year of ME / M.Tech. / M.Sc. / M.A, MBA with outstanding academic background in terms of high ranks in university examinations are encouraged to apply, highlighting their academic performance and achievement including papers presented at seminars, projects executed, design contests participated, score/rank in Mathematics Olympiad and any other awards/distinctions obtained. [IIT students are not eligible to apply].

Period of the Project: Duration of the programme may commence from 16th May 2018 to 15th July 2018. (Schedule may be flexible to suit student’s convenience.)

Stipend: A sum of Rs.6000/- per month will be given as a stipend for a maximum period of 2 months.


Bonafide Certificate: Letter issued by the Head of the Institution certifying that you are a bonafide student. .

Sasi Institute of Technology & Engineering has been conferred the autonomous status for 10 years by University Grants Commission (UGC) from the academic year 2018-19 to 2027-28, announced B.Venugopala Krishna, chairman of Sasi Educational Institutions here on Thursday. Mr. M.Narandra Krishna, Executive Director & Dr. K.Bhanu Prasad, Principal  of Sasi Institute of Technology & Engineering said “Autonomous status allows the institution the freedom to design industry-oriented curricula and introduce courses and academic programmes which would enhance the employability skills of students,”.

NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning) is a joint initiative of the IITs and IISc. Through this initiative, it  offer online courses and certification in various topics.

The start/end dates and exam dates are as follows:

4 weeks course: Start date: 5 Feb 2018 End date: 2 March 2018
8 weeks courseStart date: 5 Feb 2018 End date: 30 March 2018
12 weeks courseStart date: 22 Jan 2018 End date: 13 April 2018

Exam dates for all courses28/29 April (2 sessions per day: FN-9am to 12 noon AN-2pm to 5pm)

Enrollments to all these courses  open and will be closed on start date of the course.

National Library Week: (Day-1) NDL India

Day – 1 : About National Digital Library(NDL) 

NDL India provides support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular form of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is being developed to help students to prepare for entrance and competitive examination, to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. NDL India is an initiative of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT) to develop the pilot of a National Digital Library. It is being developed and hosted at IIT Kharagpur. NDL India is also available as an Android App and you may download the App from Google Play Store.
